Description: The Chobe River in Botswana is home to an abundance of birdlife. The most common is the African Fish Eagle. These birds are often found perched on a branch along the water's edge. On this day, as we were drifting down the river and enjoying the scenery, we spotted this eagle sitting very still on a branch near the edge of the river. There were weavers nests in the tree, but no weavers to be seen. It was a very hot time of the day, and the eagle must have spotted something very interesting to be sitting in the heat.
